BAY OF PIGS-CALETA BUENA

Zapata Swamp is regarded as the largest wetland in the Caribbean area. Located on the southern coast of the province of Matanzas, this huge swamp, partially covered by forest, is one of the most complete wildlife reserve in the geographic area. Because of its wide variety of flora and fauna and the preservation works we have carried out, it was declared National Park Península de Zapata by the Cuban authorities and Reserve of the Biosphere by UNESCO. The Caribbean coast, with its sandy beaches and the very well preserved coral reef, attracks divers and water sports practitioners from all over the world.
